Oxnard

The City of Oxnard, located on the beautiful Southern California coast, is the largest and most populous city in the County of Ventura. Oxnard is known as one of California’s “best kept secrets” with its miles of uncrowded beaches and its boundless strawberry fields.

Oxnard has a balanced and varied agricultural, industrial, housing, and commercial mix with the amenities of an ideal coastal community. It is a culturally diverse area in conjunction with having some of the richest farmed land in California. Since its incorporation in 1903, it has gone from cattle grazing, to sugar beets and lima beans, to orchards, to more intensive farming with several crops grown in a single year. Local assets include two thriving military bases, a full service deep water port, a recreational harbor with resort facilities, a medical center/hospital, industrial parks, and a community college.

In the heart of Old Town Oxnard is Heritage Square where you can find spectacular Victorian and Craftsman-style houses in a beautifully landscaped square block of historic downtown. During the summer months there is a series of Heritage Square Summer Concerts featuring some of the area’s most popular bands and performers.

The Channel Islands Harbor in Oxnard ranks as California’s fifth largest harbor for small-craft recreation. It has ideal conditions for kayaking and paddle boarding. The harbor has a dive center and also offers a variety of boat charters for fishing and exploring the Channel Islands.
