Pulmonary Rehabilitation

Our Breathing Easy Program

Community Memorial’s Breathing Easy Program is designed to enhance quality of life, maintain or improve exercise tolerance, decrease days spent in the hospital, increase independence, and help our patients better understand their pulmonary dysfunction. It is an accredited program from the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR).

The Team

Our pulmonary Rehabilitation team consists of medical doctors, respiratory therapists, registered dietitians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and social workers.

Program Goals

The primary goal of Breathing Easy is to prevent, detect, and treat complications of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and other respiratory conditions. Our team designs and implements an individualized program for each patient, with the objective of rehabilitating each patient to his or her maximum potential. In the process, we hope to educate, motivate, increase self-reliance, improve quality of life, and renew the patient’s interest in hobbies and leisure activities. Breathing Easy is a 6-week program that takes place twice per week for 2 hours per day.
