Community Memorial Hospital Earns 2026 Healthgrades Outstanding Patient Experience Award, Ranked Among Top Hospitals Nationwide

Recognized among the top 15% of hospitals in the United States and one of only 13 in Southern California, Community Memorial continues to deliver exceptional, patient-centered care.

At Community Memorial, exceptional care is about more than medicine.  It’s about how patients feel, every step of the way.

That commitment has earned Community Memorial Hospital the 2026 Healthgrades Patient Experience Award, placing it among the top 15% of hospitals nationwide and one of only 13 hospitals in Southern California to receive this distinction.

Each year, Healthgrades evaluates hospitals across the country using patient survey data collected by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). These surveys capture what matters most to patients during their hospital stay: how clearly care teams communicate, how responsive staff are, how comfortable the environment feels, and whether patients would recommend the hospital to others.

“Earning this recognition speaks to the experience our patients have every day at Community Memorial,” said Mick Zdeblick, President & CEO of Community Memorial Healthcare. “It reflects a culture where expertise and empathy go hand in hand, and where every member of our team is committed to providing exceptional care.”

What the Patient Experience Award Means for You

Patient experience is one of the most important measures of healthcare quality. It goes beyond clinical outcomes to reflect how patients are treated as people—how well they are listened to, informed, and supported throughout their care.

At Community Memorial, that experience is shaped by:

  • Clear, compassionate communication from physicians and nurses
  • Attentive, responsive care teams
  • A healing environment focused on comfort and respect
  • A commitment to treating every patient like family

These are the moments patients remember, and the reason this recognition matters.

“We are focused not only on delivering excellent clinical outcomes, but also on how our patients feel throughout their journey,” Zdeblick added. “This recognition reinforces our commitment to listening, communicating clearly, and creating an environment where patients feel supported every step of the way.”

A Recognition Built on Patient Voices

The Healthgrades Outstanding Patient Experience Award is based entirely on patient feedback. Each year, thousands of recently hospitalized patients share their experiences through standardized surveys, offering insight into how hospitals are performing in the areas that matter most to them.

Only a small percentage of hospitals nationwide earn this distinction, and Community Memorial is proud to be among them.  Because while awards are meaningful, our greatest honor is caring for our community.
