Life Before Medical School: I lived many lives before medical school! I got my bachelor's in Legal Studies and worked as a horse trainer in Germany and northern California after deciding I didn't want to attend law school. While working in northern California, I fell in love with homesteading/regenerative agriculture and human health, and decided on a career in medicine with a special interest in integrative medicine and OMM. During my post-bacc I continued to ride horses professionally, sold horse and farm-related insurance, participated in medical research at the Buck Institute, and cared for my hobby farm, where I grew about 90% of what I ate and raised a menagerie of animals.
Why Community Memorial? I had such a wonderful time on interview day and really liked everyone I met at Community Memorial Healthcare. There was such a positive and supportive energy and I saw myself fitting in well. It was important to me to be at a program with osteopathic recognition given my interest in OMM and integrative medicine. I also grew up in Southern California, so I have many friends and family in the area (some even work at Community Memorial Healthcare!), which meant a solid support system I knew would be beneficial during residency.
Hobbies: I still ride horses as much as I can. I also love to cook, garden, read, play board games, and hike.
