Medical School: Touro University California

Undergraduate School: Carleton College

Life Before Medical School: I grew up in a suburb of Los Angeles (Palos Verdes) where I volunteered with the Boy Scouts and played water polo. After graduating I needed to experience a new place and real seasons, so I went to Carleton College in Minnesota. I absolutely loved Carleton and got to study not only biology and neuroscience but religion and poetry as well. After graduating I worked as an EMT in an ambulance, a homeless shelter, and long term psychiatric care. These varied experiences showed me how powerful and needed good mental health care was and helped me decide to become a psychiatrist.

Why Community Memorial?: Searching for a residency I wanted to find a place where I would be challenged to learn and grow while being supported by my peers. In order to care for patients in any situation, I wanted to learn and practice to the highest standard. At the same time, I wanted to find a group of residents and physicians who would have my back and encourage me to take care of myself. CMH was a great example of both of these traits, a focus on quality care and residents and attendings who care for each other. Additionally, the chance to be close to my family in SoCal and live in one of the most beautiful places in the world made this decision easy.
