About

Hometown: Lake Arrowhead, CA

Medical School: American University of Antigua

Undergraduate School: University of California, Davis

Life Before Medical School: Before medical school, I worked at my family’s rural pediatric health clinic in Lake Arrowhead while completing my undergraduate studies. During this time, I observed that mental health concerns often received inadequate attention and resources — an experience that highlighted the critical need for accessible psychiatric care, particularly for underserved families. This realization profoundly influenced my path through medical school. Additionally, I served as an in-home tutor for low-income high school students in Santa Maria, fostering my commitment to community support and education.

Why Community Memorial?: Community Memorial provides a unique opportunity to train in underserved communities, aligning with my long-term goal of practicing in such areas after residency. I was born on California’s Central Coast, and returning to this region feels like a natural homecoming. Ventura’s beauty and Mediterranean year-round climate add to the appeal. During my interview, I was deeply impressed by the residents’ warmth and openness — they readily answered my questions and demonstrated a clear sense of camaraderie, a key factor I value in a residency program.

Hobbies: Hiking with my dog, gym, gardening, reading, planning family trips, traveling, cooking, and trying out new restaurants.
