Evan Doucette, DO

About

Hometown: Escondido, CA

Medical School: California Health Sciences University

Undergraduate School: California State University Fullteron

Life Before Medical School: Prior to attending medical school I was working as a research assistant at Hologic working on new medical PCR tests. I lived with my direct family, mother, father and two brothers, who I am very close with, and enjoyed spending time with friends playing tennis and camping. Prior to medical school I quite enjoyed reading, but this hobby has since largely been replaced with more physically active hobbies.

Why Community Memorial?: Being close to my family was a major priority in choosing Community Memorial. In addition, the Southern California population is one I am familiar with and used to serving, and was determined to return to on completion of my medical education. Working at a community hospital was a priority for me as I am more service-minded, and I also loved that Community Memorial gives ample opportunity for residents to perform procedures. Additionally, many of my friends from medical school who rotated at Community Memorial reflected the experience that everyone at the program was kind and supportive, which was also the impression I had following my interview.

Hobbies: I have been playing the drums since I was young, and recently began to pick up the ukulele and guitar. I really love hiking, and one of my dreams has been to hike a few weeks through the Appalachian Trail. I have also enjoy watching movies and playing board games with friends.
