About
Kevin M. Deitel, MD, FRCS(C) was born in New York City and grew up in Toronto, Canada. During his childhood, he was active in athletics along with fascinated by the study of medicine, dreaming of one day becoming a physician. The fulfillment of that dream started by earning his medical degree at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He went on to complete an internship in Comprehensive Surgery at the University of Toronto prior to being accepted into the prestigious Gallie Program for Surgery. From there, Dr. Deitel completed his residency in Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Toronto.
During his studies, Dr. Deitel was awarded the Canadian Back Institute Award in Spinal Surgery. He passed the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada qualifying examinations in Orthopedic Surgery and was awarded the Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada [FRCS(C)] degree. He pursued a fellowship in Spine Surgery at the University of California, San Diego, specializing in the management of spinal disorders in adults and children.
Dr. Deitel obtained Board Certification in Orthopedic Surgery, followed by Board Certification in Spine Surgery. Prior to joining Ventura Orthopedics, he was practicing in San Diego for nine years specializing in the evaluation and management of spinal disorders. Dr. Deitel has additional training and expertise in pain management and minimally invasive spine surgery. He lives in Newbury Park and is married with three children.
