Joseph Chen, MD, is an ophthalmologist with advanced fellowship training in glaucoma, specializing in the medical, laser, and surgical treatment of glaucoma, as well as cataract and anterior segment surgery. His clinical interests include minimally invasive glaucoma surgery, trabeculectomy, glaucoma drainage implants, and cyclophotocoagulation procedures. Dr. Chen earned his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, in 2009. He completed his internship at the University of Texas in Houston before returning to Baylor College of Medicine for his ophthalmology residency. He went on to complete a clinical fellowship in glaucoma at the John A. Moran Eye Center at the University of Utah.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Chen has contributed to ophthalmology research, co-authoring several scientific abstracts and publishing research in peer-reviewed journals, including the American Journal of Ophthalmology and the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology.
