Griffin Elbert, DO

About

Dr. Elbert is a board-certified family physician who is fellowship-trained in sports medicine with additional board certifications in obesity medicine and osteopathic manipulative therapy. After earning his undergraduate degree at Marian University in Indianapolis, IN, studying biology and chemistry, he received his medical degree from Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He then completed his family medicine residency training at Community Memorial Hospital in Ventura, CA. Following that, he completed a fellowship in sports medicine at the University of California San Diego, one of the nation’s longest standing sports medicine programs. During his time there, he worked with the San Diego Padres baseball franchise, San Diego Loyal Soccer Club, San Diego Seals lacrosse team, UCSD athletics, and covered multiple events from high school national championships to Rock’n Roll marathons.

Dr. Elbert focuses on using a multimodal, patient-centered approach to provide the highest level of personalized care for each of his patients. He takes special interest in optimizing all aspects of lifestyle including nutrition, physical activity, and wellness. Outside of medicine, Dr. Elbert enjoys spending time with his wife, Alexa, and playing with his two daughters. He continues to compete in Olympic weightlifting, and can also be found hiking, surfing, and exploring the newest playgrounds with his family.
