Dr. Barry Sanchez is a board-certified general and bariatric surgeon with over two decades of clinical experience dedicated to the treatment of obesity and metabolic disease. He earned his medical degree from the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California and completed his general surgery residency at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital, followed by advanced fellowship training in bariatric and minimally invasive surgery at Stanford Hospital.

Dr. Sanchez has held multiple leadership roles throughout his career, including Director of Bariatric Surgery at Ventura County Medical Center and Director of Ventura Bariatrics, where he developed a comprehensive surgical weight loss program focused on long-term patient success through multidisciplinary care and ongoing support. He also serves as Director of Robotic Surgery and is a certified proctor for the da Vinci® robotic surgical system, reflecting his commitment to advancing minimally invasive surgical techniques.

A Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and an active member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, Dr. Sanchez remains deeply engaged in advancing the field of metabolic and bariatric surgery. His clinical expertise includes gastric bypass, sleeve gastrectomy, and other minimally invasive procedures, with extensive experience in robotic-assisted surgery.
