Alex Doermann, MD

About

Alex J. Doermann, MD, earned his Medical Degree from University of California, Irvine School of Medicine after obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Physics at Brigham Young University. He graduated medical school in the top 10% of his class being inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Society. He subsequently completed his orthopedic residency training as a Chief Resident at the University of California, Irvine Medical Center. Upon conclusion of his orthopedic residency, Dr. Doermann spent an additional year as a hand, elbow, shoulder and microvascular surgery fellow at the Indiana Hand to Shoulder Center.

Alex J. Doermann, MD has presented papers and posters at the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, and American Association for Hand Surgery. He has been published in the Journal of Hand Surgery, JAAOS: Global Research and Reviews, and American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons.

His passion to help people with ailments of the upper extremities was fostered prior to medical school, working as a medical assistant at Associated Hand Surgeons. His passion to help people regain function has been nurtured through his medical and surgical training. He is fluent in Spanish after serving a two-year Spanish speaking church mission. When Dr. Doermann isn’t working, he is playing basketball, golf, beach volleyball, or spending time with wife and five children.
