Thomas Horn, MD

About

Thomas J. Horn, MD is a board certified orthopedic surgeon who has been a member of Ventura Orthopedics since 1992. Born and raised in New Jersey, he attended New York University and graduated magna cum laude as a member of Phi Beta Kappa with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biology and Classical Civilizations. He received his medical training at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in New York and then remained at the University of Rochester Medical Center for an internship in general surgery. Dr. Horn continued his training in general surgery in Washington, DC at the George Washington University Medical Center and then completed his orthopedic surgery residency there in 1990. During his residency, he published articles in orthopedic journals and was closely involved in the sports medicine programs for the District of Columbia High School Athletics Program and the George Washington University Department of Athletics.

Having had enough of the East Coast climate,Dr. Horn decided to head west for more sunshine and warmer temperatures. He came to Ventura in 1990 and joined the Orthopedic Department of The Buenaventura Medical Clinic. Dr. Horn soon moved his practice to Ventura Orthopedics where he specializes in general orthopedics, sports medicine and reconstructive surgery. His interests include total joint replacements and arthroscopic surgery, including endoscopic carpal tunnel surgery.

Dr. Horn is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He has served as the Director of Physical Therapy and Chief of Surgery at Community Memorial Hospital. Dr. Horn is the sports medicine physician for the Ventura High School Football Program. He lives in Ventura and most enjoys spending time with his family.  His interests include fine dining, physical fitness and travel in his spare time.
